Since its inception in 2022, the Greater Pine Island Alliance (GPIA) has completed many tasks — including mucking and gutting damaged homes, providing mold treatment and free building materials — to help people return to safe, secure and sanitary housing. In October 2023, we completed our first full-home restoration for the Jennings family.
It was the first, but it won’t be the last!
Each request for help undergoes a rigorous case-review process that includes assessing damages and determining need. We are also working with local, island-based contractors who understand the importance of giving back to the community and who are giving us the best value possible, allowing us to stretch the funds we raise.
Our goal is that every Hurricane Ian survivor is able to return to their primary residence. To do so, we are working in concert with our growing network of partner organizations, volunteers and supporters. We hope you will consider lending your own support to our work with a donation now!
